Chocolate sauce

Yields: 1 cup

Ingredients

¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons maple syrup

¾ cup raw cacao powder

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ tablespoons coconut oil warmed to liquid

Pinch of salt

Steps

Combine all the ingredients except the coconut oil in a blender. Blend until smooth. While the blender is still running add the coconut oil.

Store it in a sealed container in the fridge or you can freeze it.

You can use it to enhance any dessert. I put it on top of a banana “nice cream” sundae, drizzle it over one of my chocolate nut butter balls  or make a healthier chocolate turtle, which is made by stuffing a whole date with a couple of pecans and dipped in chocolate.
