Almond milk
Almond milk
Ingredients
1 cup raw almonds
2 cups of purified water to soak almonds
6 cups of purified
Steps
Soak the almonds in purified water overnight (6 to 8 hours). Make sure they are well covered in water because they will swell.
Rinse the almonds (discard the water the almonds were rinsed in).
Put the almonds in your blender with 6 cups of purified water (a high speed blender such as a Vitamix is best to get the most milk out of your almonds). Blend until the almonds pulp is as small as possible. It should make two litres of milk.
I like to store it in glass jars. I do not remove the pulp unless a recipe calls for it. I like the pulp in my cereal and shakes.
To remove the almond pulp, pour the milk through a nut milk bag or mesh bag.
Save the pulp, it can be added to recipes such as fruit crisps.
