Butternut squash smoothie

Ingredients

1 cup butternut squash  - cooked *see note

1 cup of water

2 apples – cored and sliced with skin on (I prefer tart apples)

½ banana -frozen is preferred

½ lemon juiced – approximately 2 tablespoons

2 tablespoons hemp seeds – optional. Add if you would like extra protein

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Green version

1 to 2 cups of kale – amount depends on you on how "green" you like your smoothies

Steps

Combine all the ingredients together in high speed blender. Blend until smooth.

You can add a bit more water to reach the desired thickness.

*Note

This is a great way to use leftover roasted or steamed squash. I often measure my leftovers and put them is a freezer bag. Frozen squash, like frozen banana chill the smoothie without adding ice.
